Three kinds of camping gas
- Campingaz cylinders 901, 904 and 907: blue butane cylinders with 0.4, 1.8 and 2.75 kilos of gas. They fit most stoves, camping barbecues and heaters and can be exchanged across Europe. Exchange yours at our store in Roermond, also on Sundays.
- Cartridges CP250, CV300 and CV470: light disposable cartridges for single burners, lanterns and travel barbecues. CP250 has a clip-on system, CV300 and CV470 a screw thread.
- Propane and butane cylinders of 5 to 11 kilos: for caravan, motorhome and the gas barbecue at home, with a regulator matching your country (30 mbar in the Netherlands and Belgium, 50 mbar in Germany, 37 mbar propane in the UK).

Campingaz 904 or 907?
The 904 holds 1.8 kilos of gas, weighs 3.8 kilos full and suits tents and short holidays. The 907 holds 2.75 kilos, weighs 5.6 kilos full and lasts about 20 hours on a two-burner stove: the standard for caravans and longer trips. Both use the same regulator (28 mbar butane).
Exchanging cylinders in Roermond
Bring your empty Campingaz 901, 904 or 907 to the store and take a full one; you only pay for the gas. No cylinder yet? Buy the cylinder plus filling once. We cannot exchange national deposit cylinders from other countries. Cartridges, regulators, hoses and stoves are in our camping gas category and on the Campingaz brand page.
Gas abroad
Campingaz cylinders can be exchanged at Campingaz outlets across Europe. National propane cylinders cannot: in France, Spain and Italy you need a local cylinder or an adapter set. Ask us for the right adapter for your destination.
Regulators and hoses
Check that regulator and appliance match the pressure used in your country; Campingaz cylinders have their own regulator. Replace a gas hose every five years (the date is printed on it) and a regulator every ten years. Use hose clamps and check connections with leak detection spray.
Safe use of gas
- Store cylinders upright, outside the tent and out of the sun.
- Close the valve after use and during transport; carry cylinders upright with ventilation, no more than two for private use.
- Use gas appliances only with ventilation; a CO alarm is a small investment.
- Check hoses and regulators at the start of every season.

Can I exchange a Campingaz cylinder without a receipt?
Yes, any Campingaz cylinder in good condition is exchanged, wherever you bought it.
Which cartridge fits my Campingaz Bleuet?
The CP250 clip-on cartridge. Twister and Camp Bistro also use CP250; screw-thread stoves use CV300 or CV470.
May I leave a gas cylinder in the caravan?
Yes, in the gas locker, upright and secured, with the valve closed while driving.
How long does a Campingaz 907 last?
