About Meindl
Meindl has made shoes in Kirchanschöring, Bavaria, since 1683, still as a family business. The brand stands for leather from its own tannery, craftsmanship and a fit that lasts for years. From the Caracas and Respond for day walks to the Vakuum and Island for the mountains: Meindl has a model for every walker.
Which Meindl series suits you?
- Light Hiker (Caracas, Respond, Tahoma): light and flexible for paved paths and day walks; category A/B.
- Trekking (Laredo, Kansas, Vakuum): firm sole and ankle support for hills and multi-day walks; category B.
- Alpine (Island, Air Revolution): stiff sole for mountains and heavy packs; category B/C and C.
- Comfort Fit: wider last for wide feet and bunions; Meindl is the only brand with a complete line.
Sizes and widths
Meindl runs true to slightly small; most customers take half a size up from their sneaker. Women's models have a narrower heel and their own last. In our store in Roermond we measure your foot and you walk the test slope.
Caring for Meindl
Brush off dirt, dry away from heat and treat leather with Meindl Sportwax or Conditioner. We have worn soles replaced by Meindl so the boot gets a second life.
Frequently asked questions
