Which camping stove suits you?

• Two-burner stove: the standard for tent and caravan; cooks like at home, with windshield and lid; runs on Campingaz 904/907 or a propane cylinder.
• Cartridge stove (single burner): compact, runs on a CP250, CV300 or CV470 cartridge; for couples, festivals and as a second stove.
• Trekking stove: under 100 grams, screws straight onto the cartridge; for backpack and bike.
• Stove with grill or toaster: Campingaz Camping Kitchen and Cadac 2-Cook with grill plate.
• Spirit and wood stoves: for those who cook without gas.

Which gas?

Two-burner stoves run on Campingaz 904 or 907 (exchangeable across Europe) or a propane cylinder with regulator; 30 mbar in the Netherlands and Belgium, 50 mbar in Germany, 37 mbar propane in the UK. Cartridge stoves use CP250 (clip-on), CV300 or CV470 (screw thread). Our page camping gas shows in one table which gas goes with which stove.

What to look for

Output in watts (1,500 watts per burner is enough for a family), piezo ignition, windshield, removable pan supports for cleaning and the footprint for your pans. Never use gas in a closed tent; a gas stove needs ventilation.

Brands

Campingaz is the best-known brand with the largest cartridge network. Cadac brings stoves with grill function. Primus stands for Swedish trekking stoves. Bo-Camp offers two-burner stoves at a sharp price.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a Dutch stove abroad?

Yes, with Campingaz cylinders or cartridges without changes; on a national propane cylinder you need the matching regulator.

How long does a cartridge last?

A CV470 about 3 hours on full flame; a Campingaz 907 around 20 hours on a two-burner stove.

Can I exchange cylinders with you?
